Overview : The Clinic Radiologic Technologist performs medical exams usingX-rays or other diagnostic imaging examinations on patients tocreate images of specific parts of the body.
The images are theninterpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease.Working under direct supervision, this position prepares patientsfor the exams, moves patients to the correct position, operates theequipment, and uses their knowledge and skill to minimize theradiation dose to the patient.
Responsibilities :
Follows instructions fromphysicians regarding which area of the patient?s body needsimaging.
Talks the patient through the procedure andanswer questions to lower their anxiety and increase theirunderstanding of the procedure.
Positions the patientcorrectly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specifiedposition to create quality images of specific parts of thebody.
Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure both tothemselves and to the patient.
Follows correct techniquesand procedures such as patient shielding to ensure adherence toensure accurate and reliable diagnostic imagingservices.
Completes required documentation for eachprocedure to ensure proper patient records and facilitate seamlesscommunication among healthcare providers.
Performs otherduties as assigned. Qualifications :
EDUCATION : Required :
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent
Graduate of a Radiology,Imaging or related educational program
EXPERIENCE : Required : 1 year
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRY / LISTING : Required : ARRT (R), Radiologic Technologist -Dx
