Job Description :
W.W. Gay is seeking an Assistant Estimator. This is an entry level position open to those with interest in becoming an Estimator or Project Manager.
The Assistant Estimator will be responsible for assisting the estimating department with all facets of the budgeting and bidding process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare quantity surveys of material from plans and specifications
- Enter counts into Trimble AutoBid estimating software
- Perform administrative tasks to support the estimating department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Estimating Manager
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications
- Must have attention to detail and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in their work
- Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
- Shall have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization
- Must complete tasks within company timelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Team-oriented attitude with flexible mental outlook.
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
