Application (Sales) Engineer II

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Champion compliance with application engineering procedures during AE onboarding.
- Provide insightful feedback to the Lead Application Engineer regarding the performance of Application Engineer I in training, assessing their progress against job requirements and goals.
- Exhibit outstanding communication and mentoring skills, making training and onboarding a dynamic part of your daily routine.
- Thoroughly and accurately determine the technical and commercial requirements of applications.
- Select the perfect products to meet these needs.
- Develop precise cost models for both standard and custom equipment.
- Set competitive pricing levels and realistic lead times.
- Communicate requirements effectively to companies internal engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Collaborate enthusiastically with the Sales Team to develop and present compelling customer sales strategies.
- Partner with customers and the Engineering team to create innovative custom solutions that satisfy application requirements.
- Manage the commercial and technical aspects of customer relationships with a keen eye for detail.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with internal resources and the Sales Team.
- Deliver timely and effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to internal resources and the Sales Team.
Minimum Position Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical degree.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in an Application Engineering role, preferably directly at an OEM.
- Demonstrated capability in the technical and commercial assessment of engineering applications.
- Proven track record of successful product selection and cost modeling.
- Strong project management skills and an aptitude for fostering positive client and internal team relations.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers or leading a team.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities with a focus on cost-efficient and innovative solutions.
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly in setting pricing and timelines that align with company goals and market conditions.
