Overview
A warm and thoughtful family with three young children in TriBeCa is seeking a full-time education-minded nanny / family assistant to join their team.
The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday for 35-40 hours (40 hours guaranteed). They're flexible on the start and end time for the right candidate but the ideal schedule is 11 : 00am to 7pm.
Their children are 8, 5, and 2-years-old and this position they're filling would primarily be focused on the eldest two, especially the 8-year-old, with support sometimes needed for the younger child in coordination with another nanny working a different schedule.
Responsibilities
- Coordination and childcare for the older children and their day-to-day needs
- Pick up and drop off via a 10 min Uber or bus ride (8 : 30am to 3pm)
- 10-15 hours per week of house management duties to include things like running errands, grocery shopping, and managing appointments for the kids in coordination with the parents
- The family has another nanny, and the two nannies will work together to coordinate during the after-school hours and the extracurricular activities the children are involved in
- Light housekeeping related to the children, like tidying up, kid's laundry, and some simple meal preparation
Qualifications
- The family spends a couple of weeks per summer in the Hamptons, so it would be ideal if the nanny could join them on weekdays during those trips
- Driver's license is a plus
- Confident swimming skills are a plus
- Education or training in a relevant field (Education, e.g.) is a huge plus
- Fluency in Mandarin would be a huge plus, as both older children are in a Mandarin-immersion school
- If the nanny enjoys cooking, they will be more than welcome to take on a wider breadth of cooking duties, but it's not required.
Requirements
- Legal to work in the US
- Experience with elementary-aged children in NYC, because a major focus of this role with be after-school supervision and getting the children into a solid routine
- An empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and a team-player mentality
- Comfort with food allergies - the eldest child has several food allergies that the nanny will need to be mindful of
Salary and Benefits
- $35-$45 per hour
- Industry standard benefits (PTO, Sick Days, Holidays, etc.)
- A health insurance stipend is negotiable
