What You’ll Do
As a Control Systems Support Engineer, you will be responsible for consistently monitoring and the maintenance of the control systems to ensure continued reliable operation.
You will manage the system hardware to complete updates, lifestyle and legacy plans and Replacing and rebuilding servers.
Other duties include :
- Control System Loop Performance Management
- Network security and user management
- Maintaining configuration object libraries
- Implementing changes to align with process plant equipment modifications and upgrades and to accommodate process improvement initiatives
- Identify deviations from desired operating conditions that could lead to financial loss
- Development of control loop functional specification.
- Draft control strategy documented by some means such as a SAMA diagram and or logic block diagrams.
- Design review meeting or HAZOP should be conducted
- Regular updates to virus databases
- Regular updates to virus protection software
- Organization and retention of documentation and records
- Demonstrate and / or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
- Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
What We’re Looking For :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Computer Science, Process Engineering, Electrical &Instrumentation Engineering or similar) preferred.
Comparable work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience working in similar environment.
- Qualifications in the Emerson Delta V DCS system preferred, extensive knowledge and experience with other DCS systems required in lieu of Delta V.
- Additional training (network design / management, cyber security, functional safety, safety systems) is desirable.
- Requires knowledge of computer technology including network equipment, communication protocols and infrastructure, operating systems, specialist application software.
- Strong math skills
- Willingness to work overtime and be on call as required.
