Accountant
SUMMARY
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Entry
- Prepare accounts payables and receivables
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
- Prepares Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Retained Earnings, and other financial reports.
- Processes month-end financial closings, which include verifying Cash Receipts Journal, Cash Disbursements Journal and General Journal totals with the Cash Balance Report.
- Prepares, enters, edits, and posts general journal entries intofinancial accounting software.
- Maintains the general ledger for all funds.Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers.
- Reconciles cash accounts.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Knows law and state and federal regulations. keeps abreast of developments and consults with the corporate office in times of uncertainty
- Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.

- Review monthly cash requests and ensures timely transfer of funds to field offices

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and three to five years of accounting experience.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
