Job Description :
Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Grant Director position. The successful candidate is necessary to acquire and implement institutional grants as well as ensuring that all goals stated in the grant application(s) are achieved.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Implementing grants in accordance with their stated purpose as well as within the mission, goals, and objectives of the College.
- Closely monitoring and supervising the performance of grant personnel, filling all necessary positions.
- Exhibit fiscal responsibility and accountability in the management of budgets.
- Maintain and oversee budgets and planning, perform budget revisions and reports as necessary.
- Purchasing, teaching, research, advising, and counseling as needed.
- Remain current with the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the demographics of the current student body and alumni of NCC.
- Must maintain student and other confidentiality and work independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related discipline; and
- Three (3) years of experience in administration and / or training; and
- Experience working with the grant indicated demographic(s) / population(s).
- Strong management and supervisory skills, ability to manage change and build productive teams.
- Knowledge and skill in performing trainings.
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administration, and internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to manage and adapt to change, make difficult decisions, encourage conflict resolution, and assure employee and department accountability.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Additional Information :
- The ideal candidate will be bi-lingual and have the ability to communicate in a second language; will have a proven track record of successfully building and maintaining relationships with community organizations;
- experience working collaboratively with a range of partners, including local government, nonprofit organizations, and grassroots groups;
has the ability to negotiate and manage diverse relationships; experience in organizing and leading community events and outreach activities.
This role is pivotal in fostering strong, collaborative partnerships that drive our mission forward and enhance our community engagement efforts both on and off the campus.
