Position Summary

The Revenue Management team is responsible for maximizing ticket revenue on every flight, every day, within the JetBlue route network.

The group is comprised of two teams Yield and Pricing that work closely together to ensure that JetBlue is selling the optimal number of tickets across the spectrum of prices available based on customer demand.

This role will focus on one of the two following areas :

Yield : As a Yield Associate Analyst, you will be responsible for the revenue performance for a portfolio of JetBlue routes, often representing more than $100 million of revenue under direct control.

Within your portfolio, you will use Yield controls to determine the optimal fare to sell at any given moment in time to maximize each flight’s revenue.

Pricing : As a Pricing Associate Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring that JetBlue is always competitive in the highly dynamic world of airline pricing by monitoring industry pricing changes filed through a clearinghouse throughout the day and determining and executing JetBlue’s response.

You will also work with the Yield team to ensure that every market has an optimal pricing structure in place.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Learn and test implementations of revenue management theory and effect improvements on current business processes to enhance system-wide revenue performance
  • Design and execute controlled fare tests to study customer price elasticity of demand
  • Query and analyze passenger ticketing data to gain market knowledge, and leverage that knowledge to inform future pricing decisions
  • Effectively communicate revenue performance and competitive market dynamics to fellow crewmembers, managers, and above
  • Provide cross-functional support to other teams including Sales, Network Planning, Loyalty, Travel Products, and Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

Bachelors in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related field;

OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma / GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience

  • One (1) year of experience in an analytical role or coursework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as quantitative critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate analytical reasoning with the ability to tackle complex problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and under pressure
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related field
  • One (1) year of Revenue Management experience
  • One (1) year of analytical quantitative experience
  • A proven interest in airlines, aviation, or transportation systems in schooling or prior work experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and other database tools

Crewmember Expectations

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and / or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation :

  • The base pay range for this position is between $62,400.00 and $77,800.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
