Position Overview : The Special Education Administrative Assistant assists the Student Support Services Team in all duties necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the Special Education Department.
The Special Education Administrative Assistant will support the Special Education Department with all clerical needs for the day-to-day operations.
Salary Range : Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience. Salaries range from $39,745 - $47,694.
Qualifications : Applicants with an Associate's Degree or higher strongly preferred.
- Bilingual and Biliterate in Spanish and English.
- Strong reading and writing skills in both languages.
- Prior special education and / or school administrative assistant experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible mindset and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements.
- Positive, proactive, and independent problem solver.
- Comfortable in a Mac environment.
- Ability to draft and create documents and spreadsheets.
Essential Attributes :
- Interact with parents and students in a professional and inviting manner.
- Assist with interpretations and translations in IEP, 504, and MDT meetings.
- Provide on-going support to the Director of Student Support Services with filing, data analysis, and miscellaneous tasks.
- Support with Special Education class and student needs flexibly, as needed.
- Embrace French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures by leading and participating in cultural activities for faculty and students.
- Commitment to environmentally sustainable business practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
