Our client, a charter school in Washington, DC, is seeking a direct-hire Assistant Director to Special Education to join their team!

About You :

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees are required.
  • 3+ years in school leadership, in addition to 3+ years of teaching experience.
  • Experience handling SPED program compliance, along with a deep understanding of DC SPED laws, is required.
  • Strategic and proactive with a passion for developing strong Special Education programs.

The Job :

  • Develop, monitor, and assess the critical functions of Special Education, 504 planning, and the RTI Process.
  • Responsible for compliance with DC and federal laws focused on special education and 504 services.
  • Oversee Student Support Services and Special Education team members, ensuring appropriate training, coaching, and implementation of program strategy.
  • Review data from both middle and high schools to ensure student progress and assess program needs.
