Job Description

Olsson has the knowledge and experience to design a wide variety of projects, including urban and rural highways, interchanges, and municipal roadways.

As a Design Technician for our Roadway team, you will apply your knowledge of established methods, practices, and programs to prepare engineering and design plans.

This position works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including, but not limited to, advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles under moderate direction and supervision.
  • Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
  • Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
  • May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.

  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Microstation (or related CAD software) preferred
  • Has solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
