Job Description
This position will be part of the Belgium aircraft maintenance team supporting the F-35 maintenance operation at Luke AFB, AZ.
This position will be responsible for supporting the Belgium Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) F-35 Tool Room and Support Section.
Tool Room Lead will oversee the tool room, supply, and hazardous material functions in support of aircraft maintenance activities.
Develops necessary processes to carry out the roles and responsibilities of the AMU tool and support areas. Responsibilities include, but not limited to : Issuing tool and test equipment, monitoring the tool calibration schedule, performing inspections on tools and test equipment to ensure serviceability, ensuring broken tools are documented and replaced, conducting daily inventory of the tool room assets.
Must be able to drive fork lift or delivery truck to transport tools, parts and equipment. Responsible for setting up support areas to include : Tool room areas, Pre-Existing Bins (PEB), Tail Number Bin (TNB), identifying spare location, loading assets into the Industrial Financial System (IFS) Database, management of the spares issue, receipt, and shipment.
Assist the onsite property and / or facility manager as required. Receives additional direction from the Maintenance Manager.
Manages the continuity plan in the event IFS or Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) is unavailable. Responsible for tool room employee training, performance, and work assignments.
Coordinates with Maintenance Manager on work schedules to support aircraft maintenance activities as needed. Provides On-The-Job training to employees and / or government personnel as it pertains to tool room and maintenance support operations.
Desired skills
- Fifth Generation aircraft maintenance experience
- Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) experience
- Experience and understanding of USAF Maintenance Practices
- Experience and understanding of US Air Force AFI 21-101
- Knowledge of OSHA, AFOSH, NAVOSH, and state safety and health standards and
regulations
- Forklift certified
- Ability to develop work schedules and assign tasks
- Working level knowledge of common tool room and supply warehouse procedures
- Thorough understanding of the Air Force Hazardous Material Management System
- Practical knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Possesses ability to work in a diverse / integrated work environment
- Working knowledge of barcode readers
- Possess the ability to perform periodic inspections and minor maintenance of support equipment
