Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented H.I.M. / Medical Records Associate to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Under general supervision of the Director of Health Information Management and in accordance with hospital, state, and federal regulations, processes medical information.
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Processes medical information to facilitate completion of post discharge medical record chart : Assembles charts into standard chart sequence;
- In accordance with hospital, state, and federal regulations, analyzes charts to identify documentation deficiencies requiring reconciliation;
Files documents into charts.
- Utilizing manual and electronic information systems, inputs pertinent data for quality monitoring (performance improvement) and information tracking.
- Utilizing manual and electronic information systems : Abstracts pertinent data / charts for quality monitoring and reimbursement;
Retrieves information / reports / charts for patient care.
Reconciles system inaccuracies, e.g., medical record number merging.

Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate degree in healthcare field preferred;
- At least two (2) years of healthcare work experience required.
- Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology preferred.
- Proficient in English grammar and composition required.
- Employee must be in good standing (evaluation / employment history, corrective action, etc.) to be considered for internal transfer.
