Job Description

Responsible for all employment related duties (interviewing, hiring, benefits administration, etc.)., and for meeting hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct all phases of employment including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement of personnel, orientation programs, exit interviews, and unemployment compensation hearings.
  • Interviewing, testing and referring applicants for hourly, clerical, technical, administrative and management positions
  • Must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Processes job requisitions.
  • Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine the needs for position(s).
  • Conduct phone screens and organize in-person or video interviews and manage the interview schedules for each facility.
  • Always seek to improve our processes and candidate experience.
  • Administer all employee benefits including insurance.
  • Serve as primary source of contact to managers, employees, and legal counsel on all human resource related matters.
  • Maintain and administer all HR reports and records as required by state and federal laws.
  • Maintain and update personnel files.
  • Compute, post, and maintain reports related to employee leave and absentees.
  • Oversee Safety Director and assist in completing paperwork for work-related incidents (workers compensation).
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to source and engage qualified talent
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking tools and processes
  • Resourceful in finding creative sources of talent supply
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across hiring teams throughout the recruitment process

Education and / or Experience

  • Three years’ experience as an HR generalist in a management position.
  • Strong recruiting background
  • Four-year college degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following :

  • BS degree in HR Administration
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • HRCI or SHRM certification

Language Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.

Physical Demands

walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Technical Skills

Computer literate (MS Office including Word, Excel, Google Docs and Sheets)

Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations

Leadership Attributes

The individual must possess the following :

Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting.

Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.

Professional appearance to support his / her role as a managerial representative.
