Accounts Receivable/Billing Administrator

Applied Research Associate’s (ARA) Corporate Accounting department is seeking a passionate and driven Accounts Receivable / Billing Administrator who is committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

• What you’ll do as a Billing Administrator Ensures customer payment terms are correct and monitors aging of invoices; making collection calls as necessaryWorks closely with the billing team, internal stakeholders and customers on collectionsPrepare monthly A / R reportMaintains files, update and track collections status and commentsGenerates billing for Fixed Price, Time & Materials and Cost Plus Fee contractsReconciles billing to monthly project summaries to ensure billing accuracy and completenessCoordinate billing review and approval with program manager and billing supervisorPulls support data for billingSubmits customer billing through customer portals for your own projects and others on the teamEnsures processes adhere to company procedures and deadlines with accurate and timely resultsCollaborates with the billing team on group projects as neededPerforms additional duties or special projects as needed
• Billing Administrator Requirements Four to five years of accounting experience or at least two years of accounting / business administration college credit hoursHigh School DiplomaProficiency in ExcelStrong oral and written communication skills necessary to interact diplomatically and tactfully with all levels of internal and external customers with the highest level of professionalismDemonstrated attention to detailProfessional, reliable, willing to learn and take initiativeAbility to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Billing Administrator Preferences Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related fieldPrior work experience in a government contracting environment, billing cost reimbursable contracts, time and materials and fixed priceDeltek Costpoint billing experienceExperience with State Department of Transportation, Federal Highways, and Department of Defense contractsExperience using Wide Area Workflow for government billingPrior experience working collections and communicating with customers
