Fondomonte Arizona is seeking a talented Buyer to join our Procurement Team.
This position offers the opportunity for growth while reporting directly to the Procurement Manager in support of a growing Agri-business across operational locations in AZ and CA.
We have a vertically integrated farming operation that includes growing, harvesting, and exporting of forage products.
The primary responsibility of the Buyer at Fondomonte would include daily supply chain management practices, evaluating quotes, conferring with vendors on price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Providing a high level of customer service to operations teams and internal customers.
This is an in-office position Monday - Friday 7 : 00 - 4 : 00 at our corporate office in Goodyear, Arizona.
Starting pay is $22-$23 / Hr DOE.
Job Responsibilities
- Negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Evaluate quotes, services, quality ratings, and delivery ratings to determine the most desirable suppliers
- Providing quick and accurate turnaround of finalized orders to support the Farm and office locations day to day-to-day business.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- The ability to speak to vendors / suppliers comfortably and professionally with any issues or follow-ups needed daily.
- Submit daily RFQs for swift purchase order creation.
- Reviews billings and contacts suppliers to correct errors.
- Review requisitions.
- Assist in daily quoting / bidding of standard store items.
- Open order follow-up / expediting with vendors.
- Cross-train in the different internal purchasing groups.
- Maintains files and records of materials, processes, inventories, and deliveries.
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors.
- Proactive when dealing with internal or external issues.
i.e., System and vendor issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Using Excel and SAP to deliver an efficient purchase-to-payment cycle.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Supply Chain Management experience a plus
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) or a combination of experience and education
- 2- 5 yrs. Experience in a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist role ( Required )
- Prior experience of using SAP as the main planning and buying tool (Preferred)
- General knowledge of inventory management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Knowledge of state, federal, and international applicable laws, and regulations
