1. IFC Drawing Review / Bill of Material verification
o Material Coordinator shall have experience review drawings and bill of materials
o Review drawings to complete a true take-off of all materials and ensure quantities match what is listed on Bill of Materials
2. Material Procurement :
o Work closely with procurement to verify that materials shown on Bill of Materials have been ordered or in inventory
3. Inventory Management :
o Work with procurement and warehouse management to maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including materials on hand and those on order.
o Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
o Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
4. Logistics Coordination :
o Work with logistics personnel to ensure proper delivery to maintain construction schedule and eliminate risks of delays
o Assist with the coordination of transportation and delivery schedules to meet project timelines.
o Manage the documentation and tracking of shipments and deliveries.
5. Documentation and Reporting :
o Review drawings and prepare quantity take-offs to ensure they match with Bill of Materials.
o Prepare and submit discrepancies in Bill of Materials to engineer and procurement.
6. Compliance and Safety :
o Ensure that all materials and equipment meet safety and quality standards.
7. Coordination and Communication :
o Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material needs and project requirements.
o Provide support to field personnel in locating and acquiring materials as needed.
8. Problem-Solving :
o Address and resolve issues related to material shortages, delays, or discrepancies.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in substation construction
- Experience : Proven experience in materials coordination, procurement, inventory management, or substation construction preferably in the electrical utility or construction industry.
