JOB DESCRIPTION Van Acker Construction (VAC) is looking for a Superintendent to join our team and work on the daily construction of two high-end residential structures on a multi-acre estate project south of Portland.

The Superintendent will support the Senior Superintendent by leading the day-to-day management of the construction process for two residential structures, with a focus on sequencing and knowledge of structural and MEP systems for high end residential homes.

They will also oversee project scheduling and coordination of subcontractors with other disciplines on site and develop high-level strategies for day-to-day direction and oversight.

As Construction Managers and General Contractors, Van Acker Construction (VAC) is the firm with overall responsibility for all activities on the project.

The Superintendent reports to the Senior Superintendent and works in coordination with the Architectural Design Coordinator and rest of the site team, which consists of multiple superintendents, assistant superintendents, and subcontractors.

  • This position is expected to start in September 2024 and last 2 years. JOB DUTIES Include but are not limited to the following : Manage and direct all construction building activities for two high-end residential structures Coordinate and manage subcontractors, engineers, and consultants to keep the project on schedule and on budget;
  • is responsible for the work of their team Develop and implement project schedules including sequencing of work activities Coordinate architectural components with engineering aspects for project integration Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship Proactively identify, address, and resolve issues in the field while meeting project needs and expectations Other duties may include progress assessments and reports;

assisting in updating budgets, analyzing material use and time constraints, and inspection work Communicate effectively with site office, field personnel including senior site superintendent.

Support the senior site superintendent in administrative tasks as required throughout the project EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent in years of experience Minimum 10 years related work experience in high-end residential construction, including at least 8 years of field supervision Ability to read drawings Professionalism in dealing with architects, subcontractors, consultants, engineers, and co-workers Independent and self-starting with strong attention to details, deadlines, and a commitment to excellence Thorough and confident understanding of math, job cost tracking, and budgeting Looks ahead and organizes activities to stay on top of the project’s needs Ownership : Is committed to the success of the project, their teammates, and the company Leadership : inspires and motivates others, resolves conflicts while minimizing drama, and adapts to change Must meet the physical demands of the job : sit, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, reach, bend, twist, stoup, crouch, climb and balance;

frequently required to lift and / or move up to 30 pounds; operate / drive machinery; frequent use of hands and tools Must live in the local area and be authorized to work in the U.

Base salary is $150,000 - $175,000 per year (DOE), plus annual discretionary bonus. Please note the posted salary is an estimated range that will be adjusted for skillset and experience.

This is a full time exempt (salaried) position working on the jobsite south of Portland Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required during various phases of the project.
