This is a fully hospital employed Pediatric Hospitalist position with academic duties
Responsibilities
- 1 week on / 2 week off schedule with admin duties
- Residents take call for doctor, Can take call from home or 30 minutes.
- Very light call. Rounding. Out of hospital by 1 : 00 pm. Average 1-2 calls a night. Go into hospital 1 time per week. (typically a pediatric trauma call so the resident is not alone.
- 26 Family Medicine residents.
- On off weeks only need to be available for a lecture if need.
- Provides professional clinical services within the scope of the clinical Faculty responsibilities and under the guidelines of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
- Provides supervision of medical care delivery for the organization's hospital
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for Resident Physicians which includes supervision of residents while observing care provided and providing ongoing feedback
- In addition, be responsible for preparing and delivering teaching conferences for residents, students, staff, other faculty on medical topics as needed
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications :
- Appointment as a Clinical Faculty member for the Program of the University of California, UC Davis, School of Medicine will be required
- Current California MD license required
- Valid and unrestricted (DEA) registration required
- Membership in good standing of hospital's medical staff required.
