POSITION SUMMARY :
The Large Project Analyst will be responsible for evaluating multifamily and commercial construction projects specifications to ensure the proposed Associated Materials window and door products meet the project requirements.
This evaluation will be based on review of the project engineer and architect's written specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Work independently, but in support of the Associated Materials Sales team, to determine proper window and door items for multifamily and commercial construction projects.
- Review window / door orders from the Sales team ensuring products meet the structural requirements based on the project specifications.
- Evaluate Associated Materials product purchase recommendation based on International Building Codes and AAMA regulations.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to determine which product will meet project specifications required per regulations. This position has the authority to deny the purchase order should the windows / doors requested not meet those specifications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, proficiency in computer usage and document management.
- Ability to read and comprehend project plans and specifications, including interpreting architectural language and identifying code and design requirements.
- Familiarity with International Building Codes, including but not limited to wind load and exposure ratings, Energy Star requirements, ADA compliance, tempered glass specifications.
- Understanding of AAMA regulations for testing windows and doors.
- Ability to travel up to 15%
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :
Engineering degree and / or 2+ years experience working with construction plans, takeoffs, and estimating.
Work Environment
The atmosphere is that of an office environment where sitting for prolonged periods of time are critical. Frequent use of company communication devices is required such as a computer, phone, and other office electronics.
