Be our next Construction Manager for our infrastructure team in the Coral Gables, FL office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Identify, research, and qualify RFP / RFQ’s and upcoming projects for go / no go potential
- Assist in the pursuit submittals in response to RFP / RFQ’s.
- Assist in the management of existing and develop new client relationships
- Under moderate supervision assists with overall management administration to small and large scale, complex project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
- Perform at a responsible charge’ level; meeting exp’s design and quality levels
- Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours
- Work with project team and clients to meet scheduled project milestones on multiple projects
- Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp’s and client’s exposure to problems
- Understand Municipal work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan
- Understand proper scope phased design level documents and deliver appropriate documentation
- Coordinates with other disciplines (transportation, architectural, structural, etc)
- Edit and develop scope of work narratives (proposal, basis of design, etc)
- Thorough knowledge of FDOT, County, and Municipal standards and codes
- Be able to direct and mentor designer level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basis
- QA / QC reviews of all calculations and design by staff, and provide guidance and mentoring
- Participate in design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
- Managing and serving as the Assistant Project Manager on major area Municipal projects.
- Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
- Being responsible for scope, schedule, budget development, monitoring and adherence for projects managed.
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Assisting Client Service Leaders with technical marketing meeting clients in the Florida region and beyond
- Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training.
Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, provides assistance and reporting on all facets of the project to ensure all facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
What your experience looks like
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Architecture
- 6-10 years of architecture / engineering design experience with Municipal and State Agency projects
- PE or RA is preferred.
- Previous experience managing multi-discipline project teams.
- Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
- Previous experience working directly with clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communication effectively, both orally and written
