JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Supply Chain Engineer

We are currently seeking a qualified Junior Level Supply Chain Engineer to re-design our logistics footprint in North America.

The ideal candidate will have passion for manufacturing, materials engineering, and supply chain management .

Location : York SC

Salary : $45-50hr

Contract Position (6 Months)

Key Responsibilities :

  • Redesigning the logistics footprint in North America, which includes process improvement, new warehouse set up, and global trading control.
  • Gathering information to optimize the supply chain and material flow performance.
  • Working with suppliers to optimize material flow and with customers, end-users, and other Chemical Manufactures to optimize their inventory.
  • Working with the warehouse on inventory to optimize levels, availability, and the usefulness of each warehouse for future orders.
  • Leading continuous improvement events that relate to supply chain and materials engineering.
  • Utilizing SAP or other ERP systems to ensure optimal functionality across operations.

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or supply chain preferred but open to other relevant degrees).
  • At least 2 years of prior engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. (Work or internships)
  • Project management experience and the ability to meet stated deadlines.
  • Prior experience with material flow for manufacturing (chemical or other raw materials).
  • Experience with Kaizen events related to supply chain and logistics.
  • Experience with PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to ensure efficient material control.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Strong focus on safety and process improvement.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with warehouses logistics and optimizing existing warehouse space.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as resourcefully with others.
  • Ability to make and recommend changes supported by data and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other facilities, if required.
