Director of Accounting

This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX and will be hybrid. Individuals need to be willing to commute to Downtown Austin 3 days a week.

Job Summary :

Thrive is looking for a Director of Accounting to join our team. The Accounting Director will assume full responsibility for Thrive’s Business Operations consisting of 4 full-time direct reports and 11 full-time indirect reports.

The Director will be responsible for Revenue, Cost of Sales, Doctor Production, Inventory, Operating expenses and year-end audits.

The Director will direct the day-to-day operations of these functions to ensure efficient use of resources, accurate & timely financial reporting The Accounting Director will be a self-starter who possesses excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities :

• Lead an effective and comprehensive process for all accounting functions, reconciliations and month end close.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and take a lead role in enhancing current control procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, working with operations, corporate accounting, IT and others to consistently improve accuracy and efficiency of processing transactions.
• Manage and support accounting team through coaching and a collaborative management style.
• Work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer to assume leadership of projects. Will work on highly complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires working with other departments and coming up with innovative solutions.

Leading with Your Head

The role requires a thorough understanding of US GAAP and how to efficiently manage multi-site locations. The role also requires attention to detail in preparing various reporting and deliverables and supports functions that require tight deadlines and quality work.

This person must be able to lead with a desire to ensure multiple teams inside and outside of the accounting department are heard and understood as to their needs.

Leading With Your Hands

The Accounting Director must be able to apply their knowledge and skills with a hands-on approach. This will include working with their manager, team members in accounting and finance, operations staff and other members of the organization.

Key Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• 10+ years of accounting experience with evidence of assuming roles of greater complexity, responsibility and accountability during their career
• Healthcare industry experience preferred
• Proactive attitude with team oriented, collaborative working style
• Highly collaborative and communicative team player; positive and considerate
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasker
• Workday experience a plus
