Margaritaville Fort Myers Beach prides itself on the resort's appearance in keeping with the theme and local vegetation. Knowledge of local vegetation and its maintenance is required.
The Groundskeeper position will ensure that the resort is maintained in pristine condition for owners / guests.
Key Responsibilities include :
Groundskeeping and Maintenance Duties :
Perform various groundskeeping and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall appearance and safety of the property.
Lawn Maintenance :
- Mow lawns using either hand tools or riding lawnmowers, ensuring neat and well-maintained grass areas.
- Trim and hedge around walks, flower beds, and walls using power landscape tools, maintaining clean and defined edges.
Landscaping :
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes, contributing to the aesthetic appeal of the property.
- Apply fertilizer to grounds as needed to promote healthy growth of plants and grass.
General Maintenance :
- Shovel shells and mulch, maintaining cleanliness and organization of outdoor areas.
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as weeding to keep the grounds free from unwanted plants.
- Sweep walkways of debris to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and visitors.
Tree and Shrub Maintenance :
- Cut down tree limbs that pose a danger to property or individuals, ensuring safety on the premises.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds to maintain tidy and well-groomed landscaping.
Equipment Maintenance :
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment used in groundskeeping, ensuring proper functionality and longevity of tools.
Pruning and Watering :
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed to maintain a manicured appearance.
- Water plants and grass as necessary, adjusting irrigation schedules based on weather conditions, and apply fertilizer as required for optimal growth.
Physical Requirements :
- Bending Twisting, kneeling, crouching, & crawling
- Lifting to 50 pounds
- Pushing / Pulling
- Standing 90% of the time
- Ability to communicate.
Safety Requirements :
- Ability to follow the safety policy.
- To be present at all pre shift safety briefings.
- The use of appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required based on the job you are performing.
- Ability to work outside in heat for extended periods of time.
Experience :
- Groundskeeping : 1 year (Preferred)
- Driver's License (Preferred)
