About the Opportunity
Overview : Northeastern University's Bioengineering Department seeks a proactive and organized Administrative Access Coordinator to support Dr.
Mona Minkara, an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering who is blind. This role is crucial for coordinating Professor Minkara's daily activities and ensuring her work environment is accessible.
Primary activities include managing correspondence, schedules, and an accessible work environment. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities
This job requires making the following areas of responsibility accessible and presenting them to Professor Minkara in an accessible format.
A background in accessibility is not necessary, but the right candidate will need to be open to learning these skills.
1. Administrative (40%)
- Assist with communications and correspondence.
- Manage and coordinate Professor Minkara’s calendar.
- Organize digital documents logically and accessibly.
- Maintain an accessible and efficient office environment.
2. Student Staff Coordination (20%)
- Assist in hiring and onboarding student workers.
- Help coordinate and supervise student staff activities.
3. Finances (20%)
- Support handling basic financial tasks like processing bills and managing expense reports.
- Tracking office expenditures.
4. Project Coordination (20%)
- Provide support in organizing and tracking projects.
- Assist Professor Minkara in preparing materials and project reports.
5. Providing Access to Visual Information (Ongoing)
- Support Professor Minkara with accessing visual information for her work.
- Assist in preparing accessible reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- High standards for accuracy and thoroughness in areas of responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
Basic financial tracking and bookkeeping skills are a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Knowledge of creating accessible materials is preferred.
