Job Summary : The Instructor-SMGC is responsible for planning, teaching, implementing, and assessing courses and activities.
Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience : High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year of experience in the field of expertise required.
Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations, such as Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Remind.
- com. Knowledge of Public Health core competencies, basic human anatomy and physiology, common illnesses, disease management, wellness, and health lifestyle factors;
- basic health coaching skills; basic mental health concepts and skills; community health worker scope of work and work settings;
interdisciplinary teamwork dynamics, population health, community engagement, outreach, and needs assessment. Able to manage classroom groups of various sizes, diverse backgrounds, and educational levels.
Effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective, and positive manner. Read; write legibly;
speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g.
Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively;
organize and prioritize workload; relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace;
see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position
Licensures and Certifications : Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Specialty license or certification preferred, but requirements will vary per specific specialty.
