TheMaterial Area Supervisor is responsible for leading hourly teamsthat unload store and deliver material to support production in anautomotive manufacturing assemblyplant.

Responsibilitiesinclude but not limitedto :

  • Leadthe safety delivery cost quality and morale of hourly workteams.
  • Developteam leaders to meet corporate guidelines and transform existingmaterial delivery processes to increase productivity and reducemanufacturing costs utilizing the World Class Manufacturingprocess.
  • Ensureinventory and record integrity and maintain a positive workingrelationship with both management and union representedemployee.
  • Managemultiple work teams in a fast paced high volume unionizedmanufacturingenvironment.
  • Responsiblefor coordinating daily team activities to achieve business metricsand implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools andprocesses as it related to materialflow.
  • Requiredto oversee and develop highly functioning work teams comprised ofTeam Leaders and Team Members and practice LeadershipPrinciples.

Requirements

Requirements :

  • Highschool diploma or GEDrequired .
  • Excellentorganizational written and oralcommunication.
  • Excellentinterpersonalskills .

PreferredRequirements :

Previous related supervisory experience.

Demonstratedability to coach / mentor / develop team members.

Previousexperience working in a union environment.

Strongbackground in LEAN manufacturing systems.

Proficient inMicrosoft Office applications and Google Suiteapplications.

100% onsite. Must be open to anyshift.

  • Ability to workany shift as required
  • Excellent organization, written and oralcommunication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and abilityto interface with various levels of employees within all areas ofthe Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership asrequired
  • Previous experience working in a union environment. *Ability to coach / mentor / develop skilled trade employees
  • Must havea good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 100%onsite.
