Qualifications / Requirements : The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the senior headquarters-level IT program manager, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) Detachment 6, liaison to HQ Air Force Material Command (AFMC), applying requisite knowledge, training, and experience to gather, submit and advocate for MAJCOM requirements in Engineering and Installation (E&I) Air Force communication infrastructure program and supports E&I investment identification for Detachment led basing and beddowns.
Serves as the senior telecommunications specialist and advisor to AFMC on engineering, implementation, restoral, removal and reconstitution of AF communication infrastructure.
Gathers and analyzes customers' functional requirements and performs technical evaluations on proposed solutions and costs used to prioritize and funding in the Air Force Engineering and Installation Wok Plan process.
Provides substantive input to complex, long-range program, branch, division, detachment and enterprise strategic planning and operational documents.
Presents and articulates program status, advocates for program requirements and resources, and presents program briefs. Represents AFIMSC Detachment 6 with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Functions as a technical specialist for all organizational computer systems and security programs for AFIMSC Detachment 6.

- May be required to travel TDY as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
- This position must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Security Clearance.RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA) :
- Knowledge of IT systems life cycle management, to include requirements analysis, development of technical solutions / costings, acquisition, implementation, testing, operations and maintenance, evolution, and end of life;
knowledge of IT acquisition policies, laws, regulations, strategies, and best practice. Knowledge of applicable DoD, Air Force, Command instructions and public laws as they apply to IT planning and acquisition.
- Skill in leading and motivating project teams in a variety of situations; includes dealing effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, and building them into a team that will work cooperatively toward goal accomplishment.
- Ability to plan, organize, lead, and manage multiple, complex IT projects / programs simultaneously; and to use a broad range of IT program management methodologies, concepts, tools and approaches to manage programs, and guide project participants, so as to ensure cost, schedule and performance requirements are met.
Ability to analyze functional requirements and, using knowledge of IT hardware / software, emerging technologies, and business processes, translate those functional requirements into sound technical solutions.
Ability to analyze facts and data to make sound decisions, even in uncertain situations, and understand the direct and indirect impacts of those decisions;
and ability to communicate effectively, and successfully convey complex technical information to non-technical personnel, including but is not limited to preparing studies, executive correspondence, statements of work, etc.
