Key Responsibilities :

1. Product Roadmap and Delivery Management

Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to define and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

Lead the product engineering teams to deliver against the roadmap, focusing on delivering new features, enhancements, and improvements on time and within scope.

Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, ensuring that products are delivered with high quality and meet customer expectations.

Drive the prioritization of engineering efforts based on product roadmap timelines, business impact, and customer needs, working closely with product management.

2. Engineering Leadership for Product Delivery

Lead product engineering teams, ensuring they have the resources, skills, and processes to deliver against product goals efficiently and at scale.

Ensure that product features are delivered using Agile and DevOps methodologies, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD) practices.

Collaborate closely with the Head of Platform Engineering to ensure that product engineering efforts align with the broader modernization initiatives related to underlying technology frameworks.

Maintain a strong focus on operational excellence, ensuring that product delivery teams adhere to best practices in architecture, coding standards, and testing.

Balance technical debt against delivery priorities, ensuring that the team can continue to innovate while maintaining the stability and scalability of the platform.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with the Head of Platform Engineering to ensure that product engineering teams have the necessary technical foundations and frameworks to deliver scalable, reliable products.

Partner with product management teams to ensure that business goals, customer needs, and technical feasibility are fully aligned.

Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to ensure that products are built with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability from the outset.

Serve as the bridge between product management and engineering execution, ensuring smooth handoffs from product definition to technical delivery.

4. Operational Efficiency and Agile Practices

Implement and refine Agile processes across the product engineering teams, ensuring iterative delivery, regular releases, and a high degree of collaboration between teams.

Oversee the development and implementation of DevOps practices to streamline product releases, improve quality, and reduce deployment times.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving regular retrospectives and process optimizations within the engineering teams.

Ensure timely delivery of product features, balancing the need for speed-to-market with quality, security, and performance standards.

5. Product Performance and Customer Satisfaction

Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, ensuring that products deliver expected outcomes for customers and meet performance, usability, and scalability benchmarks.

Lead efforts to improve customer experience, using data-driven insights to inform product engineering priorities and ensure that customer feedback is incorporated into product development cycles.

Ensure that all products are built with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability, supporting the business's high transaction volume and mission-critical operations.

6. Talent Development and Team Leadership

Build, manage, and mentor high-performing product engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Promote continuous learning within the engineering teams, ensuring that engineers stay up-to-date with modern technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.

Lead recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives to ensure the team has the right skills to meet evolving business needs.

7. Technology Governance and Compliance

Collaborate with compliance, security, and IT risk teams to ensure that products meet regulatory requirements (such as PCI-DSS, SOC2, and other relevant standards).

Implement technology governance best practices within the product engineering teams to ensure consistency in development processes, security, and code quality.

Ensure that product releases comply with organizational risk management frameworks and are built with proactive measures for security and data protection.

8. Strategic Leadership

Provide leadership in shaping the long-term product strategy, ensuring that product engineering efforts support the organization's growth, innovation, and customer needs.

Serve as a key partner to the CTO and other senior leaders, providing insights and recommendations on product engineering trends, risks, and opportunities.

Foster a culture of innovation within the product engineering teams, encouraging experimentation with new technologies and methodologies that drive business value.

Qualifications :

10+ years of technology and product engineering leadership experience, preferably within payments or high-transaction environments.

Proven experience in leading Agile product development teams and delivering against a product roadmap in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong technical expertise in software development, architecture, and product engineering, with a deep understanding of modern technology stacks, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure.

Experience in collaborating with product management teams to translate business objectives into actionable technical goals.

Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable products.

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams, drive complex projects, and balance competing priorities.

Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services or payments, including PCI-DSS and SOC2.

Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
