We’re seeking part-time journalists to write news articles about their topics of expertise for our flagship suite of products.
You will work closely with our team of editors to create and deliver high-quality news content that meets weekly deadlines.
Your role will play a crucial role in building a next-gen news media company.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities : Carry out research on assigned topicsFact-check any data collected during the research process.
Create content in the form of 200-400-word news articles collected from research. Develop well-researched pitches and submit to an editor for reviewConvert the researched information into readable, easy-to-understand content in The DONUT’s voice (and with humor).
Revise work based on editorial feedback. Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within the 10-hour weekly schedule. Maintain regular communication with the team regarding progress and availability within the specified hours.
Flexibility in scheduling is available.
Qualifications : Preferably 1 or more years of writing and editing experience at a digital publication.Prior experience with creative writing / copywriting / comedic writing / stand-up comedy / improv preferred.
An exceptional written communicator. Training in how to tell a story using words, images, or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience.
An entrepreneurial spirit who truly wants to help build a next-gen media company to positively impact the world. Ability to execute regular job duties whether you’re in a Starbucks, airport terminal, or home office.
ABOVE ALL : You must be insatiably curious with a love and passion for learning new things. Effort trumps experience in our book.
Job Location : Work remotely with consistent daily communication with The DONUT team.
