Savin Engineers is seeking Mechanical Inspectors for long term project in Lower Manhattan. Work includes the inspection of building construction work including reinforced concrete, expansion joints, milling and paving, architectural and maintenance of traffic.
Work will also include mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as structural steel work. All of the listed disciplines may at times be impacted by environmental concerns and all projects must be monitored for safety.
- Knowledge and familiarity with contract documents
- Ensure that construction work is performed in accordance with contract drawings, specifications and all applicable codes and standards
- Ensure that construction is performed in a safe manner and completed on schedule; review and evaluate potential items of extra work, provide justification and cost estimate, comment on and approve quantities of work in place for payment applications in a timely fashion;
- Complete daily labor reports
- Schedule and conduct site inspections as required
- Attend progress meetings
Required :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or NICET Level III will be considered.
- Three or more years’ experience in construction management and inspection
- Familiarity with NYC Building Code
