Senior Counsel - Insurance Defense (Remote/Unlimited PTO)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced associates on the defense side for our legal team in Aliso Viejo. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense and trial litigation, with a focus on providing expert legal guidance and representation to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation in insurance defense cases.
• Manage and lead trial preparation and strategy development.
• Draft and respond to motions, including discovery and dispositive motions.
• Conduct depositions and witness interviews as needed.
• Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and objectives.
• Research and analyze legal issues and prepare legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution as necessary.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the practice area.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in California.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense and trial litigation.
• Preferred experience in L&E, Construction Defect, Med Mal, Liability / Prem / Prod / General, OR Business Lit, etc
• Strong knowledge of relevant legal procedures and regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Experience in employment law and general liability is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction defect, premises liability, and product liability issues is preferred.
