General Description :
St. Thomas School is a diverse preschool-8th grade school in Lynnwood. We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, collaborative Preschool / PreK Lead who will provide support to all classrooms, working with children, three to five years old.
Responsibilities :
- All responsibilities are to be in line with the Catholic mission of the Parish and school
- Nurture children’s social, spiritual, & academic development while fostering a Catholic environment of mutual respect and appreciation.
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.
- Ensure the safety & well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs.
- Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., restroom use, cleaning up, dressing).
- Be warm and nurturing with the children as well as being a positive role model for all caregiving staff and children.
- Maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children.
- Supervise other Early Learning staff.
- Communicate with the Program Director regarding all aspects of the children’s care as well as classroom management.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Early Childhood preferred
- Early Childhood Experience
- Two Professional References
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
- Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position
- Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs
- Have dependable transportation.
Condition of Employment :
- Passed background check in MERIT & VIRTUS.
- Be CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certification upon hire.
- Complete Childcare Basics (to be completed within 90 days of hire) and maintain 10-hour annual in-service training.
- Show proof of MMR immunization & Tuberculosis test.

Typical Hours : 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
8 hours per day within the Center operating hours)
Salary : is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
Range : $25-$33 Per Hour
