Job Summary
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for residents in a skilled nursing setting.
- Ensure continuity of care between shifts by providing direct care and supervising CNAs, LPNs, and support staff.
- Participate in resident and family teaching / conferences and maintain a role as a resident advocate.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Assess and document resident's condition and nursing needs, as well as pain management.
- Submit clear and timely records, notify physicians of changes, and carry out orders.
- Review and evaluate plan of care based on resident's response to treatment.
- Treat residents and families with respect, administer medications, and identify clinical changes.
- Supervise and lead members of the healthcare team, act as a preceptor / resource person, and remain calm during emergencies.
- Comply with regulations and perform other duties as required.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preferably Bachelor of Science in Nursing with one year of long-term care experience.
Licensure / Certification Requirements
Registered Nurse licensure in NYS and Basic Life Support Certification preferred.
