Job Description :
L3Harris is seeking a Lead Tool Design Engineer to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas . In this role, the selected individual will design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads.
This person will develop jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product.
Essential Functions :
- Design mechanical equipment using PTC Creo and Windchill
- Interface with production, program management and safety to develop requirements and tooling needs
- Define existing equipment problems, design repairs and modifications
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior mechanical design engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior mechanical design engineering experience experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior mechanical design engineering experience
- 7 years of experience in the design of tooling to support manufacturing
- 6 years of experience using a solid modeling program such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, Catia, CREO or Solid Works
Preferred Additional Qualifications :
- Experience working in the defense industry is a plus
- Knowledge of air controls is a plus
- Fabrication experience is a plus
