Job Summary
The Category Program Manager, Hot Beverages is an exciting opportunity to accelerate your career in procurement within the Category Development team at Foodbuy.
In this role, you will take responsibility for the day to day management of assigned categories as well as the execution of strategic business plans within a fast-paced environment and work hand in hand with our fastest growing Compass sectors.
You’ll be tasked with contracting the newest trends across the hot beverage and equipment categories, and creating a fast go-to market program that can be leveraged with our high touch sector clients.
You will engage cross-functional team members to present program opportunities to key stakeholders and clients in an effort to deliver on your trend growth strategies.
As Category Program Manager, you will be required to leverage advanced procurement skills including; negotiation, margin management, product development, budgeting, and forecasting.
This role includes strong project management, analytical and customer service components. The role is located in Charlotte, NC and is Hybrid in office 3 days per week.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day tactics and operations of assigned categories.
- Work with high-end coffee roasters.
- Develop a category strategy that offers targeted business objectives and delivers strong financial results year over year.
- Research upcoming trends and target supplier gaps for contract opportunities.
- Negotiate with supplier partners to drive savings opportunities, mitigate adverse market conditions, expanded product offering and exclusive programming.
- Set annual budgets for your categories with monthly tracking and forecasting.
- Work cross-functionally with Foodbuy and sector stakeholders to manage the implementation process for new contracts and program changes.
- Respond to field requests for additional information about products and programming.
- Prepare supplier and category analyses and presentation materials. Present to all levels of client and sector stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of category management or procurement experience.
- Bachelor’s degree is required - Beverage or Food Industry experience strongly preferred.
- A great attitude - flexibility, optimism, resourcefulness and transparency.
- A proven track record of delivering results while being self-motivated and driven.
- Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills.
- Adaptable to change and thrives in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and exceptional work quality.
- Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally and influence at senior levels.
- Good knowledge of budgets and forecasting.
- Strong negotiation experience.
- Outstanding presentation skills.
