Primary Purpose :
To maintain kitchen / appliances to manufacture's specifications for safe and proper operation in all district facilities.
Qualifications
Minimum Education / Certification : High School Diploma or G.E.DValid Texas Drivers license, HVAC certifications
Minimum Experience : 5 years
Special Knowledge and Skills :
Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
Must understand the basic elements of thermo dynamics.
Must have technical skills to evaluate and accurately diagnose problems with electrical
and mechanical equipment.
Must be able to read and accurately interpret data of electrical and gas testing
equipment i.e. : volt / ohm / amp / meters, gas pressure, gas detection devices, etc.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Maintain kitchen equipment including ice machines : Installation, Repair and
Preventive Maintenance.
2. Install new laundry equipment as needed.
3. Maintain all types of commercial kitchen equipment including walk-in coolers and freezers.
4. Repair and Install new kitchen equipment as needed.
5. Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for kitchen equipment.
6. Fill out records and reports as required.
7. Test for gas leaks as needed.
8. Assist with other duties as directed by supervisor.
9. Pursue personal educational growth pertaining to appliance repair and preventive
maintenance.
10. Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to perform any
additional duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED
Saws, drills, acetylene torches, small tools, ladders, pipe cutting tools, volt / ohm meters, and gas testing equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands :
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting - over 45 pounds.
Responsibilities of the position can cause and require irregular work hours.
Environment : Work outside and inside, Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, Work in wet and confined areas, Work with high voltage equipment, Work with hot and cold equipment, Work with toxic chemicals
Wage / Hour Status : Non-Exempt
Pay Grade : Auxiliary 6 - Annualized
