About the Role : Have you ever wanted to explore an opportunity to work on infrastructure that has a vast impact across all teams in a company?

The Platform Security team is working on cutting-edge infrastructure that will be leveraged by the whole Engineering organization across Confluent by creating mechanisms to improve and evolve the overall security posture of Confluent’s internal services.

This team is at the forefront of driving this charter and is critical to unblocking multiple different product and engineering initiatives at Confluent.

What You Will Do : Create and improve infrastructure systems and services that will provide security functionality and compliance for Confluent Cloud’s services and infrastructurePartner across all of Product and Engineering to gather requirements and ensure any systems built that relies on the security platform conform to their scalability and availability needsCollaborate broadly across teams to verify and deploy production changes to Confluent Cloud services and infrastructureMaintain critical monitoring and alerting systems required to ensure smooth operations of Confluent Cloud services and infrastructureWhat You Will Bring : 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience, with a strong delivery record.

Expertise in Cloud Native technologies with experience operating large production workloads in the cloud. Experience in large scale infrastructure deployments in the cloud is desirableDeep knowledge of Kubernetes and containerizationStrong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, PulumiMust have Terraform for deploying infrastructure, and have delivered production code in high level programming like Java / Scala / Python / GoStrong fundamentals of Distributed Systems and their designExperience with telemetry tooling to monitor production systemsConfidence with problem-solving and troubleshooting critical servicesExceptional teamwork, collaboration skills, and the ability to act critically with minimal supervision at times in a remote first environmentExperience with a rotating on-call schedule to provide supportBS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experienceCome As You AreAt Confluent, equality is a core tenet of our culture.

This position has an annual estimated salary of 155,900 - 183,240 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
