The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) seeks a creative, collaborative, and inclusive leader to serve as the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment and Student Success.

CU Denver is the state’s premier public urban research university with over 100 top-ranked degree programs and a commitment to supporting diverse learners.

Reporting to Chancellor Marks, the Vice Chancellor serves as the senior officer responsible for enrollment management, student success, student affairs, international affairs, and their related strategic initiatives.

The Vice Chancellor will set and oversee the strategic direction of the division, advancing initiatives that inspire stakeholders to contribute to University-wide success in attracting, enrolling, retaining, and graduating a diverse student body.

The Vice Chancellor will lead a comprehensive, $32 million portfolio comprised of nearly 200 staff across enrollment, student success, student affairs, and international affairs departments and services.

Additional responsibilities include :

  • Provide leadership and vision for the overall enrollment strategy, partnering with the Chancellor, Provost, and other key University constituents.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of various efforts related to recruitment, financial aid, and student wellness.
  • Facilitate seamless integration of the student experience from admission through graduation.
  • Develop and implement CU Denver’s student success initiatives.
  • Leverage the University's investment in student success technology systems.
  • Ensure quality delivery of shared services to CU Denver and CU Anschutz campuses.
  • Support faculty engagement and development through evidence-based practices.
  • Focus on strategies to promote greater success among underrepresented populations.

  • Analytical skills : Ability to use data analysis to inform strategic decisions.

  • Knowledge of policy : Experience in shaping higher education policy and best practices.
  • Management skills : Ability to manage budgets and supervise staff effectively.
  • Communications skills : Exceptional communication abilities with diverse audiences.
  • Personal qualities : Confidence, humility, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Credentials : A bachelor's degree is required; a doctorate or terminal degree is preferred.
