We’re looking for a SEC Reporting Manager who will support the external financial reporting function for Lawson, as well as Distribution Solutions Group ("DSG").
The SEC Reporting Manager will report to the Director Accounting & Financial Reporting and will have exposure to the Company’s senior management team.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely.

- Prepares the Company’s external financial statements and disclosures, including, but not limited to, Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Supports the preparation of the Company’s quarterly earnings release, investor presentations and other press releases.
- Supports the preparation of the Company’s annual proxy statement.
- Supports a continuous improvement process to identify opportunities to streamline the end-to-end external financial reporting process through standardizing templates, use of technology, etc.
- Analyzes new accounting standards and reporting guidance issued by FASB, SEC and other standard setting bodies to determine implication on operations and financial reporting.
- Initiates and develops the Company’s efforts to submit SEC Filings in XBRL.
- Prepares, distributes, collects and analyzes information received in the subsidiary reporting packages.
- Prepares supporting schedules and documentation for information contained in external filings.
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly earnings / investor presentation internal supporting package.
- Prepares GAAP disclosure checklists.
- Assists in the preparation of the quarterly cash flow statements.
- Assists in the preparation of external auditor’s requests.
- Works with internal audit on financial reporting, SOX documentation and testing.
- Assists in special projects / ad hoc analysis as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Accounting, with at least 5 years of experience and a minimum of 2 years in SEC reporting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Combination of public accounting experience and SEC reporting experience in a medium to large size corporation is preferred.
- Active CPA required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and prior experience with drafting SEC reporting documents required
- Experience with Workiva required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple groups and negotiate competing priorities
- Well-developed project management skills to facilitate the quarterly reporting process
- Exceptional service orientation and attention to detail
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and able to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Strong Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of BPC / EPM report writing preferred
- Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
