Responsibilities
Use lift trucks to transport scrap steel and metal shavings from plants to outside storage bins.
Move hoppers to and from lift trucks by hand at many machine locations.
Use lift trucks to transport scrap metal hoppers and dump in their proper outside storage bins.
Sort company pallets and skids for reuse or scrap.
Clean restrooms.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).
Comply with all applicable occupational Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, as well as Crown's safety rules and regulations for each task performed.
To prevent the risk of injury, report all unsafe conditions and do not perform any unsafe acts.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Per 8-10 hr. shift (stand up to 8 hrs., walk up to 3 hrs., sit up to 1 hr.), frequently climbing to step into lift trucks, frequently (bend / stoop, reach below knee level, torque, squat / kneel / crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, balance, push / pull).
Occasionally (twist, climb, work with arms outstretched, work above chest level). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 40 lbs.

Must be able to hear, see, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, do simple and firm grasping with both hands, use feet to operate foot pedals, and use fingers to grasp small parts or wires.
Must be able to work in moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to outside temperatures, chemicals, vibrations, grease, oil, bright lights, plant electrical voltages, dust, shavings, solvents, grease, oils and weld flash.
Must be able to safely operate lift trucks, Geni Boom lift, scissors lift, and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
Must be able to safely drive a company van.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing;
- viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines;
using measurement devices; and / or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Read and understand electric, hydraulic and machine prints and diagrams. Knowledge of 24V 480electrical systems.
Read and understand electric, plumbing and building prints and diagrams. Accurately diagnose machine and facility issues and find best repair alternatives.
Basic math (including fractions and decimals), English and metric, some complex math computations (trigonometry), remember, reason, analyze, and troubleshoot.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. May require a valid driver’s license.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits are not applicable to part-time positions.
