Peregrine Team is hiring a Leave Management Specialist to support a company based in Orange County. This position is 100% remote.

The Leave Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other types of leave.

This role ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The specialist will serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities : Leave Administration, Compliance, Employee Support, Reporting and Analysis, Communication and Coordination :

  • Administer and manage all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, personal leave, and other statutory leaves.
  • Process and track leave requests, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Maintain detailed records of employee leaves, including dates of leave, return-to-work dates, and any modifications to the leave schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes to leave laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on leave policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and understanding.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Assist employees in completing leave paperwork and understanding their rights and responsibilities under leave policies.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate processing of leave payments and adjustments.
  • Communicate leave status and return-to-work information to managers and HR Business Partners.
  • Coordinate with benefits administrators to ensure continuity of benefits during leave periods.
  • Work closely with the HR team to ensure a smooth and efficient leave process.
  • Generate and analyze leave reports to monitor trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to HR leadership on leave metrics and compliance issues.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the leave management program.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leave management or a related HR function.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and leave management systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Experience with FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation claims management.
  • Familiarity with various leave management software and tools.

Pay : $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule :

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
