Role description :
The purpose of the Country Compensation Specialist for the USA is to provide expertise and advice to the business on reward, recognition, and pay processes and policies to ensure alignment with business objectives.
In this role, you drive the local implementation and execution of global Performance & Rewards policies and processes like the Annual Compensation Review process, Bonus programs, Global Job Framework, and Recognition.
You support in further standardization and automation of compensation processes. You work closely with the People Services Team and People Business Partnering Team to ensure a qualitative servicing of the Business Areas and Enabling Function, by ensuring that our Compensation structure is fair, modern, and competitive.
This role can be performed in any office in the United States.
The Compensation Specialist USA reports directly to the Performance & Rewards Director - Americas and together forms an integral part of the Global Performance and Reward COE of Arcadis.
Role accountabilities :
- Drive consistent execution and implementation of the Annual Compensation Review process in the local Business Areas considering the local (legal) context ensuring a fair, equitable, and transparent salary process in line with the budget;
- Align the existing compensation policies and procedures with the Global Reward Strategy. Where needed local deviations may be recommended to be aligned with market trends.
- Execute and analyze existing local compensation programs, policies, and regulations, identify bottlenecks and challenges, and ensure efficient operational administrative execution in close cooperation with People Services, People Business Partners, and the Global Shared Services team.
Contribute to further standardization and digitization of compensation processes.
- Implement the global job framework and connected pay scales ensuring fairness, transparency, and competitiveness.
- Coordinate and participate in regional / local P&R projects focusing on further (global) alignment, improvement, and digitization.
- Produce regular analysis of salary and total compensation positioning against the market to ensure senior management has the insight to make informed decisions.
- Act as a point of contact for compensation expert advice and governance, resolving complex issues and recommending solutions and best practices.
- Work closely with other People experts in the People Services Team, Strategic Business Partners, and with experts in Legal / Tax / Finance.
- Stay informed about local market developments and practices to adopt best practices
- Produce related communications if needed in the local organization.
- Undertake salary benchmarking and calibration of roles for transitions and off-cycle salary increase requests.
Key Shared Services :
- Together with the Global Centre of Expertise (CoE) P&R, the local People Services team, Strategic Business Partners, and other COEs implement and improve the (global) P&R policies and processes to support a fair, equitable, and competitive Compensation strategy within Arcadis
- Together with the Global Performance & Reward Technologies Manager and other P&R colleagues, implement digital compensation and benefits tools.
Qualifications & Experience :
- In-depth experience as a Compensation Specialist in an international business environment, feels comfortable working in an organization in change, and sees the opportunity to contribute to efficient operational execution and further development of the local Performance & Rewards policies and processes.
- The candidate has strong business acumen, and understands the business dynamics and complexity, and is capable of translating that to local P&R activities and processes.
