Position at Berkeley Research Group, LLC Position Summary : This position will serve as a HR consultant to various client groups while being a member of the HR Operations function.
Coach and advise on complex, time-sensitive issues in performance and behavior management, talent management, disciplinary actions, policy interpretation, and risk assessment / mitigation.
Partner with other teams to develop innovative solutions to complex problems and provide exceptional service to our clients.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Human Resources and is a hybrid (in-office and remote) position based in Washington, DC.
Duties will include but are not limited to :
- Partner with client group leaders to ensure client needs and objectives align with HR programs and solutions and provide support to meet these needs.
- Provide proactive coaching and guidance to managers and employees on a variety of issues including but not limited to : compensation, performance management (coaching, career development, counseling and / or disciplinary actions), employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws and company policies and procedures.
- Utilize HR metrics to identify areas of opportunity, develop related reports, and devise action plans across various client groups.
- Conduct and manage complex employee relations issues while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Partner with the legal department as needed / required.
- Partner with the Learning and Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion teams on initiatives to meet firm and client needs and objectives.
- Partner with business leaders and Recruiting on workforce planning.
- Collaborate with Recruiting and managers on compensation-related discussions for current and potential employees.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data collected.
- Support the annual Performance Management Process.
- Serve as mentor to lesser experienced HR Operations team members.
- Provide support on special projects.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources. International HR (LATAM and Canada) experience is desired, but not required.
- Demonstrated experience operating as an HR Business Partner partnering with various leadership levels.
- Experience with managing sensitive, critical employee situations.
- Experience with managing day-to-day employee relations.
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices, performance management, and federal and multi-state employment laws.
- Experience partnering with learning and development on training initiatives is a plus.
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated professional demeanor with complete respect for confidentiality of sensitive data, discretion, and a customer service perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Human Resource professional certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, preferred.
- Experience at a consulting firm or other professional service-oriented company is preferred.
- Experience with Workday is a plus.
Candidate must be based in the Washington, DC area and able to work in-office a minimum of two days per week with the flexibility to occasionally come in additional days as needed for meetings, events, etc.
