UNIX Systems Engineer - Contract

Ourclient has a client looking for a Unix Systems Engineer to jointheir team in Salt Lake City UT. The UNIX Systems Engineer will beresponsible to help manage servers running Solaris AIX and Linuxoperating systems in a 24 / 7 data center.

This role analyzes andresolves problems associated with UNIX server hardware andvirtualization hypervisors. The UNIX Systems Engineer also performsinstallations and upgrades to UNIX operatingsystems.

• Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science Information Systems or other relatedfield and 2 years of experience with VMware virtualizationtechnologies system management tools logical file systems systemsmaintenance in a mixed operating systems datacenter environment andclient / server environments or other directly relatedexperience
• 35years ofexperience
• Advancedknowledge and experience with Linux server operating systems ActiveDirectory integration and control of user permissions with Linuxnative tools such assudoers
• Effectivelycommunicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing tointernal customers andmanagement
• Extensiveknowledge of RHEL 7 8 9 operating systems with knowledge of systemsmaintenance experience in a datacenterenvironment
• Knowledgeof Information Technology infrastructure components (firewalldatabase operating systemnetwork
• Problemsolving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with otherdepartments to resolve complex issues with innovativesolutions
• StrongIT server platform configuration management and diagnosticskills
• Strongknowledge of system management tools logical file systems andclient / serverenvironments
• Understandingof TCP / IP networks / topology storage and LAN / WAN systems andapplications as well as theirdependencies

Requirements

• Experiencewith Ansible Automation Platform(AAP)
• Experiencewith VMWare vCenter or vSphere platformshelpful
• Provision / configurerequired security and configuration settings onto servers usingTrueSight Automation and Ansible or other scriptingmethods
• Knowhow to use native add on tools and thirdparty tools to troubleshootmalfunctions optimizations; Tools include Resource Kits DevelopmentKits and commercialtools

Thepay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably ingood faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We mayultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is basedon factors like relevant education qualifications certificationsexperience skills seniority location performance union contract andbusiness needs.

This range may be modified in thefuture.

Salaried personnel receive paidtime off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time offunless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Actproject are eligible for paid sickleave.
