POSITION SUMMARY :
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, maintains all personnel files for active and terminated employees.
Assists with various clerical tasks within the department, and answers incoming phone calls and employee and applicant questions, as needed.
- Maintains all personnel files for active and terminated employees. Prepares files and records by making labels, gathering required standard information, and filing documents
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Locates, retrieves and delivers files and materials from files as requested. Audits files for departmental policy compliance and DNV compliance
- Maintains files by recording materials, which are missing information and inserts additional information as necessary to keep files current
- Performs routine clerical duties such as photocopying materials, picking up and / or delivering materials, etc.
- Provides additional support as needed to various Human Resource area
- Manages the volunteer program
- Supportive of the compliance program set forth by Steward and demonstrated by :
- Upholds the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance
- Adheres to and helps to enforce all compliance policies relevant to his / her area
- Assures timely compliance education as requested by the Regional Compliance & Safety Officer and / or through corporate initiatives
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :
- Technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to area in order to effectively communicate with department team members, employees and applicants
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, in order to independently carry out the duties of the position
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Additional languages preferred
- Basic computer knowledge

- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent, required
- One year office, clerical experience, required
- Previous experience in Human Resources, preferred
- Previous experience in Healthcare, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
