Hone your skills as an Apprentice Instrument Technician I, with opportunity to craft instruments of the highest quality by following verbal and written procedures, and blueprints.

Responsibilities :

• File, bend, braze, stamp, grind, and polish to create handheld surgical instruments.
• Some work requires the use of a microscope.
• Learn and apply new techniques and skills to the manufacturing of the surgical instruments within standard times.
• Complete each level in the 5-year apprenticeship program.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hand metal working experience.
• Ability to visualize shapes.
• Assessment will be required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written manufacturing procedures.
• Previous experience preferred from other shops that provide surgical instruments.
• Previous experience as a watch maker, gunsmith, or jeweler preferable, but not required.
• Any previous experience using hand tools such as pliers, hammers, or files.
• Excellent manual dexterity.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level, and # years’ experience.

Pay rates :

1st 6 months $18.00 / hr.

• 2nd 6 months $18.60 / hr.
• 3rd 6 months $19.02 / hr.
• Career progression continues up to top Journeyman pay at $34.88 / hr.
• Pay rates shown are based on eligibility.

Job Type : Full-time.

Schedule :

• 8 hour shift.
• Day shift.
• Monday to Friday.
• No weekends.
