We are looking for a Shop Technician to join our team!
Hourly pay range : $18-23 / hour depending on applicable skills and experience.
Work shift : Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM (one shift); M-F, 8 : 00 AM 4 : 00 PM
The Shop Technician is responsible for staging, shipping, and receiving of all materials, parts, and equipment needed for service calls, installation projects and repair work.
The Shop Technician is also responsible for maintaining inventory levels on all parts and materials, as well as performing Annual and 6-year Fire Extinguisher inspections & recharges.
In this role you will :
- Manage incoming inventory by receiving, labeling, and staging parts and supplies within Technician stock
- Track material orders, backorders, and process return merchandise authorization (RMA)
- Purchase, shipment, and delivery of parts, tools, and specialty equipment
- Prepare materials and parts for shipment
- Deliver local materials and parts
- Repair, test, and recharge fire extinguishers
- Perform Annual and 6-year inspections on fire extinguisher and other compressed gas cylinders
- Interface with Accounts Payable on receipts and bills associated with parts
- Coordinate of equipment rental, i.e. lifts, ladders, or other job specific equipment
- Perform consistent maintenance of equipment (inspect and organize)
Ideal Candidate Profile :
- Possess strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Inventory and warehouse management, purchasing, procurement experience, preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an efficient and timely manner is important in this position.
- Familiarity with ERP and data entry systems (i.e. Parts Ledger, Service Trade, Sage)
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good communication (written / verbal), organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication), attention-to-detail and problem-solving skills.
- Continuous process-improvement mindset geared towards overcoming inventory issues and improving the overall efficiency of the warehouse processes.
- Dependable, reliable and able to work independently and within a team. Positive attitude with good work ethic.
Requirements :
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a warehouse
- High school diploma or equivalence
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- This position requires travel to pick up and deliver parts using a company vehicle. Travel is estimated to be 5% or less of working hours
Working Conditions :
- Warehouse climate with variable temperatures; dusty
- Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
