About the Role :

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer youll develop and maintain client relationships and work with clients to get their projects done on time and on budget, while exceeding expectations.

As a client-focused technical leader, you will truly have a say in growing and building a dynamic group. And youll work with an engaged team focused on finding creative solutions to complex geotechnical problems for a wide variety of clients.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings
  • Able to bring in existing client relationships as well as identify and pursue additional business development opportunities
  • Leadership of a technical or project related team
  • Prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical and construction materials testing projects
  • Develop and execute project scope
  • Prepare complex engineering reports giving professional opinions and practical geotechnical solutions
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards
  • Provide work direction and train junior engineering staff

Required Experience :

  • Bachelors degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering program required
  • Six or more years of experience performing work as a geotechnical engineer
  • Five or more years of Colorado specific engineering experience
  • Project management and managing client relationships
  • Lead and provide work directions to junior engineers
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Professional Engineer registration / licensure (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a periodic basis
  • Ability to work 45 60 hours per week as necessary in accordance with job / services provided to customers

Preferred Experience :

  • Eight or more years of experience performing work as a geotechnical engineer
  • Direct CMT Experience either through performance or management (ability to manage or cross-sell)
  • Leadership experience or capability
  • Supervision experience or capability
  • Existing client relationships in industry
  • Industry Association involvement
