Description
Function :
Reporting to the Grants Accounting Supervisor, the Grants Accountant is responsible for accounting, maintaining / building relationships w / the Grants Managers and related departments, and other general accounting tasks.
Representative Duties :
Grants Accounting Responsibilities
- Grants invoicing and receivables including :
- Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual invoices and reports
- Reconciling grant invoice discrepancies
- Interfacing with funder personnel to resolve any issues surrounding invoices
- Following up with funders to ensure timely collection of receivables and review aged AR
Accounting and Financial Management
- Working with finance, compliance, accounting, and other grants staff to :
- Prepare timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance and adherence to GAAP, Uniform Administrative Guidance Title 2 CFR 200, and other funder specific regulations
- Working with Grants Managers, Program Managers, and related departments to ensure contract and program related activities align to support grant accounting and reporting
- Monitoring and analyzing grant and contract financial results for spend-down and compliance
- Preparing, monitoring, and modifying program budgets in conjunction with program personnel
- Preparing for and assisting in grant financial audits and site visits
Other Accounting Responsibilities
- Assist in the bi-weekly processing of payroll
- Perform month-end tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager to include journal entries, reconciliations, and other related tasks

- Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
- Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality
- Adheres to established safety policies, procedures, and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation
- Attends all required meetings, in-services, and professional trainings
- Attends all regularly scheduled research meetings, trainings, forums and pertinent FCH staff meetings
- Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
- Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1+ years of relevant grants and general accounting experience
- Established knowledge base of grants and general accounting fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications :
- General understanding of Oracle Fusion ERP and / or EPM
- Experience with not-for-profits and healthcare
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate results to various partners
Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations :
- Sit at a computer station for extended periods of time
- Ability to keyboard for extended periods of time
